Conceived as a tribute to Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin, a pioneer of electricity, this original work uniquely combined video mapping, live music, and the magical art of prestidigitation. For the 20th anniversary of the Maison de la Magie (House of Magic), magnificent, colorful, poetic, and spectacular tableaux transformed the façade of the famous French illusionist's former home.
Located opposite the Royal Château of Blois in a grand bourgeois house, the Maison de la Magie is a key cultural landmark in the city's history. Inaugurated in 1998, Robert-Houdin's former residence celebrated its 20th anniversary and has since become a leading museum of sound and light, as well as one of the cradles of illusion in Europe.
Magic Fusion commissioned Studio ÉNORME to design a series of interactive animated tableaux. Numerous nods to watchmaking, references to playing cards, automata, and the mythical bestiary of the era allowed the famous residence to prove that magic still exists today. Forty-one musicians from the Blois Conservatory of Music orchestra performed original compositions by Samuel Safa, and magician François Normag presented tricks to accompany the event.
